Manila Mayor Isko Moreno announced the cancellation of classes at all levels throughout the entire Metro Manila in observance of the annual Traslacion (Feast of the Black Nazarene), which was held every January 9.
Moreno also declared work suspension in local government offices in the City of Manila to give the government employees full opportunity to join and participate in the popular religious event.
However, public employees who were involved in maintaining peace and orders, traffic enforcement, public services, disaster and risk reduction, and management and sanitation are still required to report on duty.
