What Is The Meaning Of “Motivation” In Tagalog?
MOTIVATION IN TAGALOG – In this article, we will learn and discover the meaning of the word “motivation” translated to Tagalog.
There are a couple of words in the Filipino language that could translate to motivation. However, the use of these words depends on the context of the sentence.
The most direct translation of “Motivation” in Tagalog would be “Adhikain“. According to TagalogPinoyDictionary, the word is translated as a wish or desire.
Example:
“Adhikain ko na makapag-tapos ng pag-aaral at matulungan ang aking mga magulang“.
The sentence expresses that our subject’s motivation for finishing studies is helping his/her parents.
In English, this could be translated as “My goal is to finish my studies and help my parents” or “My motivation to finish studies is helping my parents“.
However, there is another Tagalog word to describe the meaning of Motivation. “Pagganyak” would mean “motivation, stimulation, or encouragement”.
Although it derives a direct meaning to the word “Motivation”, it’s context is used differently. For example, if we used the Tagalog sentence above, we can’t replace “adhikain” with “pagganyak”.
“Pagganyak ng guro sa kanyang mga estudyante ay libreng burger sa makaka kuha ng pinaka-mataas na grado sa test.”
In English, this could be translated as “The teacher’s motivation to students was a free burger to whoever gets the highest score in the test.”
