PAGASA – Cloudy Skies, Scattered Rains On First Monday (January 6)

PAGASA – Weather bureau PAGASA said that cloudy skies and scattered rains are to be faced by several parts of the country this first Monday.

The bureau said in its daily weather forecast that Bicol region, Romblon, Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro will face cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorm.

According to Inquirer, the tail end of a cold front (TECF) is currently affecting Southern Luzon and Eastern Visayas. The bureau warned of flash floods or landslides that might occur during rain showers.

The northeast monsoon or amihan, meanwhile, will affect the rest of Luzon. The bureau elaborated that it will bring cloudy skies with scattered light rains over the following areas:

  • Cagayan
  • Isabela
  • Nueva Vizcaya
  • Quirino
  • Apayao
  • Kalinga
  • Mountain Province
  • Ifugao
  • Aurora
  • Quezon

The bureau warned of occasional to frequent gusts that might occur, especially in mountainous and coastal areas.

As for Metro manila and the rest of Luzon, they will face partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to amihan.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to localized thunderstorms will be faced by Palawan and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao. The bureau warned of flash floods or landslides in high risk areas.

Based on the report, for the wind speed forecast, Northern Luzon and eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon, and the Visayas will have strong winds moving in the northeast with rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will have moderate to strong winds in the northeast direction with moderate to rough coastal waters.
