PAGASA – TECF, Amihan To Affect Parts Of Philippines (January 4)

PAGASA – Weather bureau PAGASA said that the Tail End of a Cold Front and the northeast monsoon will be affecting parts of the country.

The bureau added that the tail end of a cold front (TECF) will be affecting Eastern Visayas, while the northeast monsoon or amihan will be affecting Luzon.

According to GMA News, Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas will face cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the TECF. The bureau warned of flash floods and landslides that might occur during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile cloudy skies with scattered light rains due to amihan will be faced by Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, and Aurora. Occasional to frequent gusty conditions are expected especially in mountainous and coastal areas.

As for Palawan and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao will face partly cloudy skies to cloudy skies with isolated rains due to local thunderstorms. Residents of these areas are warned against flash floods or landslides in high risk areas that might occur during severe thunderstorms.

Based on the report, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will face partly cloudy skies to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to amihan. Intermittent gusts will occur especially in mountainous and coastal areas.

As for the wind speed forecast, the northern and eastern section of Luzon will have strong winds moving in the north east direction with rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will have moderate to strong winds moving northeastward with moderate to rough coastal waters.
