Gen. Felimon Santos Appointed As New AFP Chief

NEW AFP CHIEF – Lieutenant General Felimon Santos was appointed as the new chief-of-staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

The Presidency is the top position in the Philippines which require a lot of responsibilities. The said tasks include the appointment of officials in the government agencies and branches.

Every now and then, some officials would resign while others reach the mandatory retirement age. The President has to scrutinize and put in the position someone he has high hopes with of fulfilling the tasks on the surface.

In line with the appointments in government branches and agencies, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) head, Gen. Noel Clement, has reached the mandatory retirement age.

The AFP is one of the top security forces of the Philippines. Being the chief-of-staff entails a lot of duties and risks as well.

As Gen. Noel Clement leaves his post, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte appointed a new official to lead the AFP. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the new AFP Chief is Gen. Felimon Santos.

The appointment of Santos has already been signed and is effective January 5, 2020. Based on the report, he aims to fulfill the desire of the President to put an end to the communist insurgency in the country under his term.

Gen. Felimon Santos will take the lead for seven (7) months. He is determined to fulfill his task but admitted that it might take a lot of time before the results may be felt.
