Video of Burning Christmas Tree Inside Cebu City Mall Goes Viral
CHRISTMAS TREE – The video footage of a burning Christmas tree inside a shopping mall in Barangay Apas, Cebu City goes viral.
On Thursday afternoon (December 26, 2019), a Facebook user named An Gie has shared the video footage of a burning Christmas tree at Ayala Malls Central in Cebu City. The incident causes fear and panic to some shoppers.
The fire allegedly started at the upper part of the decorations but it quickly spread throughout the entire tree. The flame nearly hits the other parts of the building, which might cause bigger damage inside the establishment.
Luckily, the security guards and the emergency quick response team (QRT) of the mall management immediately respond and put out the fire using a fire extinguisher. The fire incident put out in 10 minutes.
Cebu City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) investigator Senior Fire Officer 3 Oliver Tautho reported that the fire might cause by exposure to rain brought by Typhoon Ursula or due to electrical short circuits.
Tautho also lauded the mall management for the immediate response and for having emergency equipment to put out the fire quickly.
