PAGASA – Ursula Intensified Into Severe Tropical Storm

PAGASA – Weather bureau PAGASA recently said that the weather disturbance Ursula has intensified into a severe tropical storm.

The bureau said in their 4 AM weather bulletin that Ursula (Internationally called “Phanfone”) was last seen at about 315 kilometers east of the town of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

According to Inquirer, Ursula is packed with maximum sustained winds of about 95 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 115 kilometers per hour. It is currently moving west northwest at 30 kilometers per hour.

Ursula is expected to make landfall over Eastern Samar on Tuesday afternoon or evening.

Based on the report, occasional to frequent heavy rains will prevail over Dinagat Islands, Siargao and Bucas Grande Islands, Eastern Visayas, Sorsogon, Masbate, northern and central Cebu, northern Negros Provinces, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo, Guimaras and Romblon.

Meanwhile, the rest of Bicol Region, Quezon, Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro, and the rest of Visayas and Surigao del Norte will face light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains.
