According to the article of Inquirer.net, EDSA currently has a designated motorcycle lane that can be identified by blue lines, but it is not exclusive to motorcycles as other vehicles may use it as well.

The MMDA also noticed that motorcycle riders do not follow the designated lane for them, so the agency plans to pave the dedicated lane for motorcycles.

“Napakahirap po ipatupad ng motorcycle lane considering the limited manpower the MMDA has. Napakahirap din ng non-contact apprehension kasi napakaliit o walang plaka ‘yung karamihan,” MMDA traffic czar Edison “Bong” Nebrija said.

Bong Nebrija revealed that there is a plan for a dedicated motorcycle lane with fences. He said the project was just looking for funds before it will be implemented. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said it was aware and agreed.

So far the MMDA has focused on putting up barricades some parts of EDSA to keep pedestrians on the sidewalk.
