Divisoria, known for its diverse merchandise and cheap prices, remains busy days ahead of holiday and the upcoming New Year.

According to GMA News, Manila City Administrator Felixberto Espiritu said that they allowed vendors to use roads that are not part of the main thoroughfares.

He added that buyers can now be at ease and enjoy peace of mind as they roam around and shop at the busiest shopping district since the government raised security.

Based on the report, Espiritu elaborated that the police, as well as barangay officials are spread around 24 hours a day in order to protect and preserve peace.

“Ang mga pulis natin at ating mga barangay officials ay nakakalat 24 hours a day upang sa gayon ay maprotektahan sila. Patuloy kayong mag-enjoy ng inyong Pasko mamili kayo sa Divisoria,”

Last month, certain vendors in Divisoria marched near the Manila City Hall to plead to Manila Mayor Isko Moreno to lift the ban.

Moreno banned the vendors from selling their merchandise due to their “negligence to keep their areas clean” as piles of garbage was left on the said area.
