SIARGAO ISLAND – Hostelworld named Siargao Island as one of the world’s best backpacking destinations for 2020.

Among the breathtaking islands are Boracay, Bantayan, Palawan, and Siargao. Based on a report from Inquirer, the global hostel-focused online booking platform, Hostelworld, named the island of Siargao as one of the world’s 20 best backpacking destinations for 2020.

The online booking platform ranked the gorgeous island 9th on the list. The ranking was based on the growth of the bookings that were recorded in the last twelve months.

According to the report, Hostelworld described Siargao Island as the Philippines’ “surfer’s paradise” and “wave-riding capital.”

“Full of treasured like waterfalls, lagoons, caves, jungle and of course, those beaches, it’s one of the best backpacking destinations for nature lovers,” it said.

At night, the tourists can have an “awesome nightlife” in Siargao in the form of cocktail buckets and casual bars.

Based on the report, the Siargao Island beat other tourist destinations namely Portland, Maine in the United States; Trapani, Italy; Ha Giang, Vietnam; Pisac, Peru; Sendai, Japan; Buenaventura, Columbia; Raglan, New Zealand; Liege, Belgium; Nassau, Bahamas.
