Court Releases Maguindanao Massacre Verdict Charging the Ampatuan Brothers Guilt
MAGUINDANAO MASSACRE VERDICT – The Court found the Ampatuan brothers guilty over the heartbreaking incident in 2009.
Today is the most-awaited day of the families of the people who died in a tragic incident in Maguindanao in November 2009. On the 23rd day of the month, more than 50 people aboard the seven (7) vehicles that were supposedly off for a filing of candidacy met their sudden death.
Those people include the families and supporters of Ismael “Toto” Mangudadatu. They were off to support him as he will file his candidacy to challenge the incumbent family – the Ampatuans.
Some victims were journalists who intended to cover Mangudadatu’s filing of candidacy. There were six (6) passersby who also fell victims to the case tagged as one of the greatest election-related incident. The proceedings took 10 years.
Recently, the Maguindanao Massacre verdict is out. The Court found Ampatuan brothers Zaldy and Andal Jr. guilty based on a report on ABS-CBN News.
The suspects of the case tagged as the “Trial of the Decade” are sentence to reclusion perpetua. They are not allowed to post bail.
