According to Inquirer Lifestyle, this is the tourism department’s efforts to promote the country as a worldwide culinary destination.

The app called “My Metro Manila” is available for download on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The application features a guide on local cuisines, restaurants and tourist spots around the metropolitan capital.

It also features a real-time message feature which enables users to send queries directly DOT-National Capital Region representatives.

The tourism will also roll out its list of accredited tours and accommodations within the app, which also enables users to book tours and hotels via their mobile phones.

Apart from this app, the department also launced a guidebook called Metro Yummy Picks which highlights local and iconic food.

Highlighted dishes includes “Inutak” from Taguig City made with rice pudding and ube (purple yam), “Waknatoy” also popularly called “Marikina menudo,” and more.

Based on the report, DOT-NCR Regional Director Woodrow Maquiling said that this is an invitation for tourists to stay longer in Metro Manila, and try the local flavors and the diverse food offerings available.
