PH’s Candidate, Michelle Dee Guaranteed Top 40 Place In Miss World 2019
MICHELLE DEE – Beauty queen Michelle Dee, Philippine’s candidate for Miss World 2019 has been guaranteed a spot in the top 40 of the competition.
Philippines’ bet for Miss World 2019 pageant Michelle Dee is the daughter of Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez. In a previous article, the veteran actress said she didn’t know her daughter joined the Miss World Philippines pageant.
Recently, Michelle won the Head to Head Challenge where she talked about her advocacy on autism awareness. She also featured her two autistic siblings in the video.
Adding to this, the official Facebook page of Miss World announced the finalists who were guaranteed a top 40 spot. These included candidates from:
- Moldova
- Nepal
- Venezuela
- Nigeria
- Mexico
- Philippines
- Guyana
- India
- Trinidad & Tobago
- Paraguay
On Monday, December 9, Michelle Dee shared a photo of herself wearing her national costume for the competition. She emphasized how proud she is of her costume designed by the renowned Pinoy fashion designer Francis Libiran.
Based on a report from PEP, the beauty queen’s sun goddess-inspired costume is worth P1.3 million. It is the costume she wore during Miss World 2019 “Dances of the World.” She performed the traditional dance “Sayaw Sa Pamaypay.”
“What a time to be Pinoy! As you all you know I’ve been wearing an all Filipino wardrobe since I got to London but it’s time to showcase my national costume for Miss World to all of you!” Michelle wrote.
The Miss World 2019 coronation event will be held in London on December 14, Saturday. It would start at 10:00 p.m. (Manila Time).
