Iloilo City Road Accident Involves Ambulance Carrying Patient

AMBULANCE – An emergency vehicle carrying a patient was figured in a road accident in Iloilo City, Monday morning, December 9, 2019.

It is a protocol on the road that when emergency vehicles are passing by, the private and public cars would have to give way. The emergency vehicles are dealing on a life-and-death matter and a little delay may cause a life.

However, in several instances, there were emergency vehicles that were involved in accidents even before they get to the hospital. In some cases it did not affect the patients a lot while in others, it lead to a more unwanted scenario.

Recently, in Iloilo City, another road accident involving an ambulance added on the list. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the emergency vehicle was carrying a patient when the accident happened.

The emergency vehicle was driven by a certain Victorino Presidente. He was supposed to bring the patient to Western Visayas Medical Center when the car figured an accident with an Asian Utility Vehicle (AUV).

According to the report, the emergency vehicle was from Jaro Plaza while the AUV was going to the city proper when the incident took place at Taft North in Mandurriao. The latter was driven by a certain Rolando Salvadico Jr.

Mandurriao Police Master Sergeant Alfredo Masamong Jr. stressed that the vehicles must give way if an emergency car is passing by. Currently, the investigation is still ongoing. Fortunately, the patient was not hurt and was transferred to another emergency vehicle.
