Study In Japan – Scholarship For Teacher Training & Jap Studies Applications Now Open

Often times, people who want to travel the world always have Japan in their bucket list. Now, you could get a chance to be one of those people who are lucky enough to go there.

The Japanese Embassy in Manila announced yesterday that their applications for teacher training and Japanese studies in Japan are now open. This is under the Philippine’s scholarship program for 2020.

According to a report from ABS-CBN, the embassy stated that teacher training is an intensive year-long program. It aimed to develop the participants’ capabilities in educational administration, methods of education, specialized subject research, and practice.

For those who want to apply for the scholarship for teacher training, here are the requirements.

  • A Filipino citizen
  • Born on or after April 2, 1985
  • Has at least 5 years of teaching experience in primary or secondary schools as of October 1, 2020
  • Currently employed as a teacher in an elementary or secondary school
  • Interested and willing to learn about Japanese culture

Adding to this, the Japanese studies course offers advanced Japanese language and cultural exchange programs for undergraduates. It is also a 1-year course.

At the end of the program, the participants are expected to have a deeper understanding and knowledge of Nihongo and Japanse culture. Those who want to apply for the program must be:

  • A Filipino Citizen
  • Born Between April 2, 1990, and April 1, 2002
  • Currently as an undergrad student and majors in fields related to Japanese Language and/or Japanese culture

The deadline for submission of the requirements is on or before January 24, 2020. However, as per the report, the Japanese embassy requires that applications must be submitted in person or via courier to the Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC) at 2627 Roxas Boulevard in Pasay.
