Recently, reporters from PEP asked Gloria Diaz and 2016 Binibining Pilipinas Universe Maxine Medina if the country could win back-to-back in this year’s pageant. The two celebrities will be starring on the new IWant tv series titled “Beauty Queens” directed by Joel Lamangan.

Medina is confident that the Filipina representative is ready for the pageant. She has shown an impressive performance during the Binibini pageant.

According to the report, Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz said it’s possible Gazini Ganados could enter the finalist. She said the Cebuana will have a lesser chance of winning if the pageant is held in the Philippines.

“You know, I was a judge when she won, so baka makalusot. I mean, it’s all luck, hindi pagandahan lang. Suwerte-swerte lang yan, pana-panahon. It can happen.”

“Something can happen. Bakit, nangyari na nga yon noon but we’ll never know. At least hindi dito sa Pilipinas ang contest, there’s a bigger chance. Kung dito, medyo… Maganda siya, maganda siya,” she said.
