Here are the opinions of Miss Universe Pinays on the chance of Gazini Ganados in winning the crown
Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz, Miss Universe 1973, and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach gave their opinions on the chance of Gazini Ganados for the back-to-back win after Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray.
Gazini reigned supreme among the Filipinas from different parts of the country during the Binibining Pilipinas 2019 competition. As one of the judges in the said competition, Gloria shared that the beauty queen from Bohol was really her choice, based on the article from The Philippine Star.
“Yes, Gazini was my choice. But you know, they change after winning, nagbabago sila, they improve, and I wish I could take a closer look at her now,” the veteran actress shared.
When asked about the chance of the Philippines to get a back-to-back Miss Universe title, she said that she is giving Gazini a 50/50 chance. “Beauty contests are a rat race. Either you win or you lose. So, 50/50,” Gloria elaborated.
Meanwhile, the opinion of Margie Moran on this was: “Everyone has an equal chance. It all depends on the judges. I will let Gloria have the last say. You know, we are too ambitious. After Pia and Catriona won, we want more, we want something more.”
Pia Wurtzback, on the other hand, shared that Gazini Ganados visited at home. Then, the Miss U 2015 showed her fellow Pinay beauty queen the DVD copies she had containing the Miss U competitions. “From the tapes, I think Gazini got several pointers,” she said.
Pia also shared that she watched the videos as part of her training in the competition she participated in 2015 in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, based on the article, Catriona Gray could not be reached to give her opinion on Gazini’s chance. Perhaps she has been busy as the outgoing Miss Universe.
