Here’s Official Miss Universe Mouawad Crown
MISS UNIVERSE 2019 – The president of Miss Universe Organization (MOU) revealed the cost of the new crown.
Possible awards for beauty pageants include sashes, scepters, titles, prize money, and crowns. The world’s most coveted title, Miss Universe, was bagged by Catriona Gray.
Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters crowned the Filipina winner with the iconic phoenix crown designed by Mikimoto & Co., Ltd. The gorgeous headpiece is estimated to cost around P13 million. It’s beaded with 500 diamonds and 120 South Sea and Akoya Pearls.
The coronation night crown for the 68th edition of the Miss Universe competition will be held in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States this coming December 8 (December 9, Philippine time).
Based on a report from Philstar, renowned jeweler Pascal Mouawad is the one who sponsored and designed the winner’s crown. They said on their Facebook page that they will soon reveal the inspiration of the crown. It is themed: modernity, achievement, power, journey, and femininity.
According to the report, Pascal Mouawad makes its debut at the Miss Universe 2019 competition. They are known for creating timepiece collections and rare jewels. They have also collected several ‘Guinness World Records.’
A few hours ago, Miss Universe Organization finally unveiled the Mouawad Crown on their Facebook page. Based on a report from PEP, MUO president Paula Shugart said the crown cost around P253 million. It has 1,770 diamonds and features three golden canary diamonds. The biggest diamond in the middle weighs 62.83 carat.
“Our challenge of crafting the ordinary was to embrace the values of Miss Universe and translate them into a diamond-studded crown that represents ambition, diversity, unity, and beauty,” said Pascal.
Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray will pass on the Miss Universe title along with the Mouawad crown. Watch the video below:
