PHILIPPINE FLAG – In this topic, we will now identify and learn the symbols of the Philippine flag and the meaning of each.

According to CultureTrip, the national flag of the Philippines was first used in a battle on May 28, 1898. May 28 was later known as the day of the nation’s flag.

The flag has rectangular, with a stripe of royal blue on top and crimson red on the bottom. It also has a white equilateral triangle at the hoist of the flag pointing to the right.

Inside the triangle, there is a golden yellow sun with eight rays on the center; and three five-pointed stars. Each of the objects in the flag has meaning. Here are the following:

  • The three stars inside the triangle represents the three island groups in the Philippines, namely:
