Director Confirms SEA Games Lighting Ceremony Was Pre-Recorded
SEA GAMES LIGHTING CEREMONY – The lighting ceremony was a spectacular feat to behold, however, there were claims that it was not live, but pre-recorded.
The opening ceremony was an amazing spectacle of lights and glamour. There were amazing performances and the people were cheering loudly.
However, Davao Mayor Sarah Duterte criticized organizers for their song choice “Manila” during the entrance of the Philippine Team. According to her, it was not inclusive.
This time, people are criticizing organizers that the lighting ceremony was pre-recorded. However, the show’s creative director had confirmed that it was in fact, a pre-recorded event.
According to Floy Quintos, the show’s director, their team had to prepare for the incoming Typhoon Tisoy. Because of the harsh weather, organizers had to reschedule some of the outdoor events.
In an interview with ANC, the director said that they were working with a Filipino and foreign team. He added that they all agreed that no one could predict what the weather could’ve been like.
The director added that it was a “Creative Solution”. He continued saying that the original plan was to do it live, however, they were concerned that anything could happen.
If it can happen live, why not but the storm is coming, we don’t know what the weather could be like

Quintos also said that he accepted the fact that people are angry about the lighting ceremony being pre-recorded. He even expressed that they have every right to be.
But, he emphasized that as creators, their job is to make sure that nothing goes wrong. Especially in a situation where a storm is about to hit the areas of the SEA Games.
