Motorist Advised To Avoid EDSA During SEA Games Opening (Nov. 30, 12:00-5:00 P.M.)
MOTORIST ADVISED – Motorists are advised to avoid passing through EDSA in the afternoon of November 30 because of the opening of the 2019 South East Asian Games.
Heavy traffic is predicted along the northbound side of the main thoroughfare starting from noon till 5:00 p.m. Adding to this, a stop-and-go scheme will be implemented.
This is to give priority to buses carrying athletes to the Philippine Arena in Bulacan. The statement was made by EDSA traffic chief Edison “Bong” Nebrija in an interview with DZMM.
In the interview, Nebrija state that buses for the delegates would be utilizing yellow lanes on the roadway. The request was similar to a special lane to the implementation during the ASEAN summit.
From 12 noon up to 5 in the afternoon, ‘yan po ‘yung window hours na we will be expecting different convoys that will start passing EDSA… Kung pupuwede ang pakiusap po namin sa ating mga kababayan na iwasan po ang northbound ng EDSA

Along with this, private vehicles were also advised not to tailgate official convoys. Nebrija said that they could be apprehended if they do so.
He added that if private vehicles started following the convoy, they would be caught and put to the side, further delaying their drive. Also, spectators were called to take accredited buses to get to the SEA Games opening venue.
Based on a report from ABS-CBN, busses will begin to carry passengers as early as 12 noon from several pick up locations in the capital. These include TriNoMa Mall, Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange, SM MoA, and Ayala Clover Leaf.
