MMDA – Traffic Management Plans For SEA Games In Place

MMDA – The Metropolitan Manila Development Plan (MMDA) said that their traffic management plans for the 30th SEA Games is in place.

The following areas where the burea traffic management plans are enacted are the following, according to the bureau:

  • Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA)
  • Roxas Boulevard
  • other parts of Metro Manila

According to Inquirer, Celine Pialago, the bureau’s spokesperson said that the use of yellow lanes will be maximized and the stop-and-go scheme will be enacted along EDSA,

As for malls that are located adjacent to EDSA, they agreed to forego weekend sales promotions to help reduce traffic situation.

“Our traffic plan has been drafted months ago and we have prepared primary and secondary roads from different hotels to going to different sporting venues,”

Based on the report, about 2,000 personnel from the authority will also be deployed during the 30th Southeast Asian Games.

They further added that they will also implement the “no day off, no absent” policy during the event which starts from November 30 up to December 11.

The Philippines hosted the SEA Games for the 4th time.
