BLACK DEATH VIRUS – The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is strictly monitoring arrivals in the Philippines in lieu of the recent Death Plague virus incidents.

Recently, two people from China were infected with the pneumonic plague. The same plague that was known as the Black Death Plague.

A Mongolian Couple lost their lives due to the bubonic plague. They got infected after eating the raw kidney of a marmot, which was their local health remedy.

The virus is very potent and highly contagious. However, the DOH said that the public does not need to panic about this incident.

With this. The Bureau of Quarantine at NAIA said they are now monitoring passengers who are potential carriers of the virus. They would be looking out for passengers who have a fever going through their thermal scanners.

Afterward, if ever a passenger has been found to have a fever, they will be brought to their office for a physical examination. Adding to this, they would also get the passenger’s travel history.

Along with the monitoring of passengers, NAIA officials said that they would also monitor cargo planes and vessels that passed China. Based on a report from the Manila Bulletin, the DOH, and airport authorities are on high alert for the virus.

The Human Quarantine thermal scanners are on alert. We have to strengthen and tighten screening and quarantine measures, especially on passengers coming from China,

Dr. Noel Ramirez.

He also added that the Philippine government needed to take stronger measures to prevent the entry of the virus. Ramirez suggested everyday screening and quarantine protocols.
