The bureau said that it was last seen at about 345 kilometers east of the town of Basco, Batanes.

It is currently packed with maximum sustained winds of about 95 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 115 kilometers per hour. It is moving north at about 20 kilometers per hour.

Sarah is expected to leave Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) between Friday evening or Saturday morning. It is expected to weaken and move towards the East China Sea and eventually, the southern Ryuku Islands in Japan. It is less likely to affect the country.

All Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals have been lifted. However, Batanes and Babuyan Islands will face gusty conditions due to the surge of the northeast monsoon or amihan.

According to the advisory, due to amihan, sea travel is still risky, especially for smaller sea vessels over the following seaboards:

  • Northern Luzon
    • Batanes
    • Cagayan
      • Babuyan Islands
    • Ilocos Provinces
    • Isabela
