PAGASA – Signal No. 3 Raised In Northern Cagayan
PAGASA – State weather bureau PAGASA said that Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 3 was raised over northern Cagayan.
The bureau added in their 5 AM advisory on Tuesday that the now Typhoon Ramon is predicted to make a landfall in that area, as well as the Babuyan Group of Islands.
Ramon was last seen at about 120 kilometers east of the tow of Calayan, Cagayan.
The typhoon is packed with maximum sustained winds of about 120 kilometer per hour and gusts of up to 150 kilometers per hour and it moves at west northwest at about 10 kilometers per hour.
The bureau added that it is more likely to make landfall in Babuyan Islands between Tuesday morning and afternoon; and in northern Cagayan between Tuesday afternoon and evening.
TCWS Number 3 was raised over the following areas:
- northern portion of Cagayan
- Santa Praxedes
- Claveria
- Sanchez Mira
- Pamplona
- Abulug
- Ballesteros
- Aparri
- Calayan
- Camalaniugan
- Buguey
- Santa Teresita
- Gonzaga
- Santa Ana
Meanwhile, TCWS Number 2 was raised over the following areas:
- Batanes
- Apayao
- Kalinga
- Abra
- Ilocos Norte
- Ilocos Sur
- the rest of Cagayan
Lastly, the following areas are under TCWS Number 1:
- North part of Isabela
- Sta. Maria
- San Pablo
- Maconacon
- Cabagan
- Sto. Tomas
- Quezon
- Delfin Albano
- Tumauini
- Divilacan
- Quirino
- Roxas
- Mallig
- San Manuell
- Burgos
- Gamu
- Ilagan City
- Mountain Province
- Benguet
- Ifugao
- La Union
- Pangasinan
Based on the report, Batanes, north Cagayan, Babuyan Islands, Apayao and the north part of Ilocos Norte will face moderate with frequent heavy rains.
The north part of Isabela, Kalinga, Abra and the rest of Cagayan, and Ilocos Sur will face light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains.
The bureau still observed a low pressure area was last seen at about 930 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, and is more likely to intensify into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
However, it will not have any effect on any part of the Philippines as of the moment.
