PAGASA – Signal No. 2 On More Areas, Ramon Maintains Strength
PAGASA – PAGASA recently raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) number 2 on more areas as Ramon maintains its strength.
The bureau added that the tropical storm maintains its strength before it will make its landfall.
According to ABS-CBN, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) number 2, which warns of wind speeds of about 61 to 120 kilometers per hour within 24 hours, will be raised over the following areas:
- Cagayan
- Babuyan Islands
- North part of Isabela
- Sta. Maria
- Sta. Pablo
- Maconacon
- Cabagan
- Sto. Tomas
- Quezon
- Delfino Albano
- Tumauini
- Divilacan
- Apayao
- Kalinga
- North part of Ilocos Norte
- Pagudpud
- Burgos
- Bangui
- Dumalneg
- Adams
Meanwhile, Signal No. 1 was raised over the following areas:
- Batanes
- Ilocos Norte
- Ilocos Sur
- Abra
- Mountain Province
- Ifugao
- Northern Aurora
- Dilasag
- Casiguran
- Dinalungan
- rest of Isabela
- rest of Ilocos Norte
Based on the report, tropical storm Ramon was last seen 160 kilometers northeast of the city of Tugegarao in Cagayan. It is currently packed with maximum sustained winds of about 85 kilometers per hour and gustiness up to 105 kilometers per hour.
As mentioned before, it is expected to make landfall on Northern Cagayan on Monday night or Tuesday morning. It is also reported to move north west at about 10 kilometers per hour.
Ramon will face light to moderate with chances of heavy rains over the east parts of Cagayan and Isabela.
Meanwhille, the rest of Cagayan and Isabela, Babuyan Islands, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Abra, and Ilocos Norte, will face light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains.
On the other hand, the previously mentioned low pressure area (LPA) was last seen at about 1,605 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas and is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
The bureau further warned fishermen of high risk on sea travel over the seaboards of the areas under TCWS, the western seaboard of northern Luzon, and the eastern seaboards of Central and South Luzon.
