PAGASA – Tropical Storm Ramon To Make Landfall On Weekend

PAGASA – Weather bureau PAGASA said that tropical storm Ramon was expected to make landfall on the weekend up to Monday morning.

The bureau elaborated that the weather disturbance will make landfall between Saturday evening and Monday morning,

According to Inquirer, in its 4 AM advisory, it was last seen at about 355 kilometers east of the city of Legazpi, Albay.

It was packed with maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour. It is moving west northwest at about 10 kilometers per hour.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) number 2 was raised over Catanduanes. TCWS number 1, on the other hand, was raised over the following areas:

  • Camarines Norte
  • Camarines Sur
  • Albay
  • Sorsogon
  • Eastern Samar
  • Northern Samar

Based on the report, the weather bureau said that Ramon is expected to weaken into a tropical depression.

Bicol Region and the eastern portions of Isabela and Cagayan will face light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains.

The bureau further warned the public, especially residents in affected areas, to take precautionary measures against flash floods and landslides; coordinate with their local disaster risk reduction and management offices; and stay vigilant for updates.
