Flight Delayed Because Of Pigeon Stuck Inside Plane
FLIGHT DELAYED – A flight from Russia got delayed because a pigeon got itself trapped inside the plane causing panic.
There are a lot of reasons for a flight to be delayed. It could be due to harsh weather conditions, technical problems, and sometimes, even pigeons?
Aeroflot flight SU1730 was due to take off from Sheremetyevo Internation Airport, in Moscow, Russia. They were en route to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
But, the flight was delayed for about 20 minutes due to the troublesome bird. Panic ensued as the pigeon went flapping up and down the cabin.
Based on an article from Ladbible, the staff tried desperately to get it off the plane. However, the task wasn’t as easy as it sounds.
It seemed like the pigeon refused to get off the plane. The crew opened the doors and tried to guide the pigeon out, but instead, it took a turn into a different part on the plane.
The staff and crew thought that the pigeon must have snuck on the plane during cleaning and maintenance between flights. They said that this was the only time the pigeon could’ve got in.
Although the delay was inconvenient for the passengers, there wasn’t any harm done. But, there was an incident with a flock of gulls that got stuck in the engine of the plane mid-flight.
Thanks to the quick decision making of Captain Yusupov, all 226 passengers were safe. Because of his efforts, the Captain was hailed a hero.
During an interview with SCMP, he said that he didn’t feel any fear. He added that he saw a cornfield and hoped for a reasonably soft landing.
