Vendors Allegedly Inject Sugared Syrup Into Fruits To Make It Sweeter
VENDORS – Some fruit vendors allegedly injected sugared water into apples and grapes to make it sweeter.
Aside from vegetables, fruits are also a good source of vitamins and minerals. Almost all of us were taught by our teachers and parents to always eat fruits because it could protect us against some diseases including cancers and diabetes.
The Philippines is among the countries that produce lots of fruits. Durian, Papaya, Mango, Jackfruit, Banana, and Pineapple are just a few of the fruits species that grew in the county.
However, the most common fruits like apples and grapes don’t grow in the Philippines because of its warm weather. That’s why fruit vendors import these fruits from other countries.
There are times that these imported fruits became more expensive. Sometimes people have no choice but skip their cravings and wait until they are cheap. Meanwhile, the vendors would find a way to keep their fruits fresh.
Recently, on the Facebook Page of ‘Raffy Tulfo Supporters’, they exposed the modus of fruit vendors. Based on the caption, the vendors injected sugared water into the fruits to make it sweeter.
It also says that the apple vendors cover the hole with the stickers to hide it from the consumers. They also shared photos of grape that has a little hole in it.
“Ingat sa mga ilang prutas na nabibili sa labas tulad ubas at mansanas. Di ba kayo nagtataka iba ang tamis at mura. Ang ilan ay ini-injection umano ng sugar para tumamis. Mag-ingat lalo na yung mansanas try ninyo na tanggalin yung sticker na nakadikit magugulat kayo may butas na tinurukan ng injection pampatamis.”
