Magnitude 4.0 Earthquake Hits Eastern Samar (Nov 12)

EARTHQUAKE ALERT – The state volcanology agency Phivolcs reported that a magnitude 4.0 earthquake struck Eastern Samar.

Magnitude 4.0 Earthquake

On Tuesday early morning (November 12, 2019), the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said that a magnitude 4.0 earthquake hits the town of Guiuan in the province of Eastern Samar at 02:47 am.

The earthquake’s epicenter was located at 10.68°N, 126.39°E – 083 km S 62° E of Guiuan, Eastern Samar. The tremor is tectonic in origin and has a depth of focus of 017 kilometers, according to Phivolcs.

The seismology agency said that there is no damage or aftershocks are expected following the incident.
