Here’s Why Isko Moreno Bans Street Vendors From Selling On Ilaya

Actor-turned-politician Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso is the current mayor of the city of Manila. He aims to bring back the glory of the “Paris of the East.”
The 45-year-old politician has done several positive changes in the city. He gave jobs to the PWD and senior citizens, restored the city’s heritage and parks, and the cleared the roads for the motorists.
In a previous article, Isko Moreno allowed the vendors to display their goods again in Divisoria but they must comply with his conditions. The stalls should be at least 1 meter wide and it should not block the road.
On Monday morning, November 11, 2019, he did a surprise inspection at Ilaya St. in Binondo Manila. He expressed his disappointment over the pile of garbage that’s mostly vegetables and scraps in the streets and said he might not allow them to display their goods on the area again.
“Kayo ba’y hindi nahihiya? Hindi ba kayo nahihiya niyan? O talagang baboy lang kayo sa bahay? Walang kusa, walang kusa kahit anong awa mo sa kanila,” he said.
A few hours ago, Manila Bulletin took to Facebook to give an update about the Isko Moreno’s decision to ban the street vendors in Ilaya. The PIO announced the mayor ban all the vendors due to “negligence to keep their areas clean.”
