PAGASA – Quiel, Tail End Of Cold Front To Affect Philippines

PAGASA – Weather bureau PAGASA recently said that two weather systems have been affecting many parts on the Philippines this Friday.

The bureau said that the interaction of cold air and warm air, also known as the tail end of a cold front from the Pacific Ocean will bring rains over the following areas:

  • Ilocos Norte
  • Apayao
  • Cagayan
  • the rest of northern Luzon

According to ABS-CBN News, severe tropical storm Quiel, on the other hand, will bring rains over Western Visayas, Palawan, and provinces from the Mindoro island.

Weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said that the severe tropical storm was last spotted at approximately 380 kilometers west northwest of the town of Coron, Palawan as of 3 AM.

It is currently packed with maximum sustained winds of about 110 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 135 kilometers per hour.

Quiel is expected to intensify into a typhoon within the next 24 and is likely to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) early on Friday night (Novvember 8).

Based on the report, as for Metro Manila and the rest of the country, will face fair weather that might be interrupted by isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms.
