Six Towns In Northern Part Of Cagayan Still Flooded
SIX TOWNS – Six towns in Northern Cagayan were overwhelmed by floodwaters and persistent rains, according to their respective LGUs.
According to ABS-CBN News, The Office of the Civil Defense in Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) said that the floods are currently persistent in the following towns:
- Pamplona
- Allacapan
- Santa Praxedes
- Sanchez Mira
- Claveria
More than 20 families or 100 people living in Pamplona were taken to the municipal gymnasium. As for Santa Praxedes, 119 families or approximately 459 people have been evacuated.
Based on the report, The LGU in Claveria reported three incidents of drowning: two were rescued whila a 10 year old boy in Brgy. Mapula-pula is currently missing as operations to find him continues.
The authorities have already cleared a part of a road in Santa Praxedes that was recenly blocked by a landslide on Wednesday.
Several bridges in Baggao and Peñablanca are currently inaccessible due to swollen rivers. The LGUs further declared the suspension of classes in these affected areas.
They are currently vigilant as intermittent rains stilll batters a large part of Cagayan Valley.
