Most business companies are implementing strict rules and regulations when it comes to hiring of employees. Employers usually choose young and competitive applicants to work for their company.
The human resource personnel frequently choose applicants with high educational attainment, pleasing personality, good work experience, and willingness to perform the tasks needed in the job.
Nowadays, business companies are already hiring and giving more job opportunities to senior citizens who still have the willing to work. However, elderly workers should also perform their job properly.
Recently, a netizen named Arlene Escalona saw the 75-year-old grandpa identified as Tatay Danny working as service crew at a popular fast-food chain “Jollibee” in Bustillos-Legarda, Manila.
The lady netizen and the senior citizen worker had a short conversation. She also took a photo of the old man and shared it on social media.
“Mababawasan na ‘yung mga aged population natin na nagiging miserable [ang] buhay dahil wala na silang pagkakataon buhayin [‘yung] sarili nila o bilhin kahit pang maintenance na gamot nila dahil sa pagiging over aged sa trabaho,” Escalona said.
Escalona also expressed her admiration towards the fast-food chain for giving a new opportunity to Person with Disabilities and senior citizens.
