List of Areas Where Classes Are Suspended Today (October 29, 2019)

CLASSES SUSPENDED – Several schools and local government units announced the cancellation of classes today, October 29, 2019.

Among the usual reasons for the cancellation of classes in schools are regular holidays and bad weather condition. In the case of the former, the students are given the chance to participate in a certain celebration that is held nationwide.

In the case of a class suspension due to the bad weather condition, it is implemented for the safety of the students. Traveling is risky under heavy rain and getting wet may also expose the students to diseases.

Aside from the aforementioned reasons for the suspension of classes, there are other factors that may lead to the cancellation of classes. One of them is the risk posted by other natural incidents like an earthquake.

Recently, Cotabato was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), damages and aftershocks are expected of the said quake.

In line with the earthquake that hit parts of Mindanao, several local government units and schools suspended classes based on a report on CNN. Here is a list of the areas covered by the class suspension:

All Levels

  • Tulunan, North Cotabato
  • General Santos City
  • Samal Island
