Our human body is composed from the different system of organs. Each serves a different purpose to keep us functional. There are 11 known systems overall that makes the human body
Here are the following systems according to Lumen:
- Integumentary System
- Refers to the shell that covers all our internal organs and the site of many sensory receptors. It is composed of the entire skin, hair and nails.
- Skeletal System
- Basically what supports the human body. This is one of the two systems that enables us to move. This is simply made of bones and joints.
- Muscular System
- Works with the skeletal system to help us move. It also has the function of maintaining our body temperature. It is composed of skeletal muscles.
- Nervous System
- Includes the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. These spot and processes sensory information. They also activate bodily responses.
- Endocrine System
- These produce hormones and regulates bodily processes. Composed of the pituitary and thyroid gland, pancreas, adrenal glands and the reproductive cells.
- Cardiovascular System
- Delivers oxygen and nutrients to tissues and Equalizes body temperature. Composed of the heart and blood vessels.
- Lymphatic System
- These returns fluid to the blood and defends against pathogens. Composed of the thymus, lymph nodes, spleen and lymphatic vessels.
- Respiratory System
- Composed of the lungs, trachea, nasal passage. These delivers oxygen to the blood and removes carbon dioxide from the body.
- Digestive System
- These processes food for use by the human body and removes wastes from undigested food. Composed of the stomach, liver, pancreas, gall bladders, and the intestine.
- Urinary System
- This controls water balance in the body and removes wastes from the blood.
- Reproductive System
- Produces hormones and gametes
- Male
- These deliver gametes to the female
- Female
- These supports the embryo until birth and produces milk for infant.
