Jollibee Explores Potential Of Filipino Foods In Global Market
JOLLIBEE – The largest food chain in the Philippines aimed to introduce the potential of Filipino products such as Adobo rice in the global food market.
Adobo rice has been one of the most iconic dishes of the Philippines. It is a fusion of marinated chicken or pork on top of rice.
According to Jollibee food corp CEO Ernesto Tanmantion, the adobo rice could become an international favorite. Jollibee had already established the “halo-halo” and the peach mango pie to be popular abroad.
Currently, Adobo Rice is being introduced in its branches in Manhattan in the US. Tanmantion also added that they plan to roll out the dish in other branches outside the Philippines soon.
The JFC CEO had also stated that they have found that non-Filipinos love the adobo rice. He said that it paired well with the iconic classic, Jollibee’s Chicken Joy.
Based on a report from ABS-CBN, Tanmantion said that the key to JFC’s success abroad was great tasting food. The JFC already has over 3,000 branches globally.
“What we notice is that are the basic success factors of foodservice business in the Philippines are actually the same success factors in other markets, be it in Southeast Asia, in China, in the US“, Tanmantion stated.
With this in mind, Jollibee has aimed to become one of the top 5 largest restaurant chains in the entire world. Their CEO added that expanding their operations in the US and China would help them in their goals.
Aside from that, their growth in the Philippines is still continuing to flourish, he added. He had also previously stated that they plan to make a 50-50 revenue split between local and foreign businesses.
