MMDA To File Complaint Against Facebook Page Sharing “Fake News”
MMDA – MMDA recently said on Wednesday that it filed a complaint against a Facebook page that spread fake news against them.
According to ABS-CBN, the agency’s spokesperson Celine Pialago filed the complaint against Facebook page “Pinoy Laugh Page”, which posted a photo of Pialago with the caption “MMDA sa commuters: Kung nahihirapan sumakay, ‘wag na lang pumasok.”
The photo hasn’t been found in the page but ABS-CBN’s DZMM screnshotted the post from the page. Here is the photo:
According to Pialago, this will affect her and her performance in a way that this begets bias from the people of the country which will believe that she said those statements, albeit a total lie.
Police Col. Ramon Roque, chief of the response unit of the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group, said that the officials are currently tracking down the admin of the Facebook page.
The post gained a spark after operations of the Light Railway Transit-2 were suspended for 5 days. The cause was a fire that hit the line’s power transformer.
As per the report, Pialago also went viral on the social media platform for lambasting jeepney drivers who joined the transport strike on September 30 which involves the government;s plan to phase out PUVs and replace them with modernized versions.
What do you think? How will you react to this? Let us know more about it.
