Family of Tony Mabesa Confirmed Actor Died
TONY MABESA – The family of veteran actor and director confirmed that he died on the eve of Friday, October 4, 2019.
The Philippine entertainment industry is filled with a lot of veteran actors and actresses. Most of them have spent not just several years in the industry but decades and most of their lives.
One of the actors whose career has reached around seven(7) decades is Tony Mabesa. He is both a film and theater actor and he is also a director.
One of the latest projects of Tony was the film Rainbow’s Sunset. It was an entry for the Metro Manila Film Festival 2018 and he worked closely with the late actor Eddie Garcia in the film.
In June 2019, Eddie died due to a cervical fracture after he tripped during a taping. Recently, a sad report about Tony has also crossed the surface.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the family of Tony Mabesa confirmed that the veteran actor died. He was 84 when he passed away on Friday night, October 4, 2019.
Dulaang Unibersidad ng Pilipinas and playwright Floy Quintos shared a statement from the family of the veteran actor. According to him, he died at 10:15 in the evening surrounded by his family and friends.
Based on the report, the family is seeking for privacy in this time of mourning over the death of Tony. They expressed their gratitude for all the prayers sent for them and the veteran actor.
The cause of the death of Tony was not mentioned. In other reports, it is stated that he died of an illness. With regards to his wake, the family has not given any detail yet.
