Clearing Operation Team Removing Fruit Vendor Inside Garage Elicits Comments Online

Fruit Vendor Inside Garage Allegedly Harassed by Parañaque Clearing Operation Team

The clearing operation team of Parañaque earned online criticisms after confiscating the products of fruit vendor inside a garage.

Over the past few months, the Philippine government is strictly implementing road clearing operations with the aims to clear the streets from illegal street vendors and also to reduce the traffic congestions along the road.

However, several street vendors are expressing their disappointment towards some clearing personnel for their inhumane imposition of the program. Abusive personnel were allegedly confiscating goods in a disrespectful manner.

The clearing operations could only remove vendors selling beside the streets that causes obstruction along the right of way. Vendors selling in a private property are exempted from the operations.

Recently, a Facebook user named Felix Jhun Lazaro has shared the video footage of clearing operation team from Parañaque City confiscating goods from a young fruit vendor inside the garage of a private property.

Lazaro said that the vendors rent a garage wherein they could sell their goods without causing inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians but the clearing personnel allegedly harassed the vendor.
