Barack Obama Says Presidents To Avoid Watching TV, Using Social Media

BARACK OBAMA – The former President of the United States, Barack Obama, said all presidents should avoid watching tv and social media.

Nowadays, people get more updated news on their television and social media sites. Celebrities share some updates of their personal life on their Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram accounts. Even the politician, their air their opinions through social media.

However, there are people who claimed that too much social media or television have negative impacts. This was after they learned that the number of people who experience depression, cyberbullying, and self-dissatisfaction.

While most of the leaders from all over the world including the Pope are active in social media, former President Barack Obama gave some piece of advice during his interview at a tech conference in San Francisco.

Based on a report from CNN, the former chief executive in the US advised all presidents to avoid watching the television or read posts on social media. He said having a bright team is enough.

 “What you have to do is to create a process where you have confidence that whatever data is out there has been sifted, sorted and the core issues that are going to be important to your decision, you’re able to see it around.”

“And that requires not just a good process but making sure you have a team that’s got a diversity of opinion. The other thing that’s helpful is not watching TV. Or, you know, reading, you know, social media,” he added.

According to the report, Barack Obama explained that television and social media will only cause a distraction to the president’s judgment. The ex-president did not mention any names during the interview.

“So those are two thing I would advise if you’re president not to do, because it creates a lot of noise and clouds your judgment,” Obama said.
