PAGASA: Three Systems Bringing Rains To The Philippines

PAGASA – Weather bureau PAGASA recently said that it is currently monitoring three weather systems in the Philippines.

The bureau said that the southwest monsoon or habagat will bring rainfall over Metro Manila, the habagat is also reported to currently affecting Central Luzon, South Luzon, and Western Visayas.

According to GMA News, Tropical Depression Nimfa was last spotted at about 670 kilometers east of the town Basco, Batanes as of 3AM.

Nimfa is currently packed maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour.

On the other hand, another low pressure area (LPA) was estimated to be spotted in San Jose, Tarlac.

The LPA and habagat will bring rains in the following areas:

  • Central Luzon
  • Mindoro Occidental
  • Mindoro Oriental
  • Palawan

As per the report, the following areas will face cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to habagat:

  • Bicol Region
  • Western Visayas
  • Calabarzon
  • the rest of Mimaropa.

The following areas cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the extension of tropical depression Nimfa:

  • Cagayan Valley
  • Cordillera Administrative Region
  • Ilocos Region

As for the rest of Visayas and Mindanao, they will face partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain due to localized thunderstorms.

The bureau further warned that floods and landslides might occur, especially during thunderstorms.
