PAGASA: LPA To Merge With Tropical Depression In The Next 48 Hours

PAGASA – Weather state bureau PAGASA said that a low presure area (LPA) is expected to merge with tropical depression Nimfa within 48 hours.

The bureau said that the brewing storm was spotted at Mayantoc, Tarlac as of 10 AM

A report from GMA News states that tropical depression Nimfa went stationery in the northern Philippine Sea. Nimfa is currently bringing light to heavy rainfall over areas of the Philippines.

The tropical depression is currently packed with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour.

As per the report, the following areas will face light to moderate with occasional heavy rains up to Thursday due to Nimfa:

  • Pangasinan
  • Zambales
  • Bataan
  • Occidental Mindoro
  • Romblon
  • Northern part of Palawan
    • Calamian Islands
    • Cuyo Islands
  • Aklan
  • Antique
  • Iloilo
  • Guimaras

Occasional light to moderate rains with intermittent heavy rain showers during thunderstorms will be faced by the following areas:

  • Metro Manila
  • CALABARZON
  • Batanes
  • Cagayan
  • Babuyan Group of Islands
  • Ilocos Norte
  • Apayao
  • the rest of Central Luzon and MIMAROPA.

Luzon and Western Visayas will face scattered rains and thunderstorms. Residents were advised to take precautionary measures and coordinate with local disaster risk reduction authorities.

Sea travel over the north and eastern coast of Northern Luzon has been suspended due potentially rough to very rough sea conditions.
