EARTHQUAKES: 2 Strong Quakes Hit Burdeos, Quezon

Burdeos, Quezon Hit by Earthquakes with 5.3 & 4.7 Magnitudes

EARTHQUAKES – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded two(2) strong quakes in Burdeos, Quezon on September 13.

Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes.

One of the strong quakes recorded by Phivolcs is the 7.1 magnitude quake in Davao Oriental. There were expected aftershocks due to the said quake and a tsunami advisory was released.

Previously, in April 22, Phivolcs recorded a quake in a part of Zambales. It had a magnitude of 6.1. Strong shaking were felt leaving people fearing about the so-called “Big One“.

Phivolcs recorded a 5.6 magnitude quake in Makilala, North Cotabato at around 8 pm on July 9. It was followed by several aftershocks.

Recently, a two(2) strong earthquakes hit a part of Quezon. At 04:28 pm on September 13, 2019, Burdeos, Quezon was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3.

EARTHQUAKE

According to Phivolcs, the quake that hit a part of Quezon was located at 15.09°North, 122.23°East – 039 km North 46° East of Burdeos. The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 062 kilometers.

Phivolcs stated in a bulletin that there are expected damages and aftershocks. Here are the reported intensities:

Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte; Quezon City; Marikina City; Sta. Cruz, Laguna;Alabat and Gen. Nakar, Quezon;
Intensity III –
Guinayangan, Quezon; Muntinlupa City; Manila City; San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan;Bacoor, Cavite; Maddela, Quirino; San Mateo, Rizal; Baler, Aurora; Lucena City
Intensity II –
Dingalan, Aurora; Mandaluyong City; Apalit, Pampanga; Taguig City; Lucban, Quezon
Intensity I-
San Isidro, Nueva Ecija; Gapan City; Meycauayan, Bulacan

At 05:18 pm on the same date, another strong quake hit Burdeos, Quezon. It had a magnitude of 4.7 and a depth of 065 km. The quake hit 15.05°North, 122.21°East – 034 km North 49° East of Burdeos.

According to Phivolcs, there are no expected damages and aftershocks from the said quake. Here are the reported intensities:
