Cotabato Towns Suspended Classes Due To Heavy Rain

COTABATO – 2 towns in Cotabato recently cancelled classes in the afternoon due to the heavy rains brought by tropical depression “Marilyn”.

Weather bureau PAGASA recently announced that the weather disturbance has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). It has now earned the name “Marilyn”.

The government units from towns in Biliran earlier suspended due to the bad weather that has been occurring on this day.

Recently, according to Inquirer, the government of the town in Pigcawayan, Cotabato halted the afternoon classes in all levels, both public and private schools, due to the continuous rains due to Marilyn.

This was issued by the local mayor Jean Dino Roquero, who confirmed the suspension to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.

Roquero further said that they will monitor the situation to see if they will be able to extend the suspension tomorrow.

As per the report, Alamada also suspend their classes in all levels both in public and private schools due to the same reason.

Parents of pre-schoolers and elementary students were advised to fetch their children and ensure their safety. As for the teachers, they were urged to safeguard the children until their parents will come and fetch them.
