PAGASA: Low Pressure Area Near Visayas Now A Tropical Depression

PAGASA – Weather bureau PAGASA recently saaid that the low pressure area (LPA) near Visayas has enhanced into a tropical depression.

The bureau further added that it is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibilty as the thirteenth storm on Wedneday. It will soon be called “Marilyn”

A report from ABS-CBN said in the bureau’s 5 AM bulletin, the LPA was last seen at about 1,180 east of Visayas.

It is currently packed with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 55 kilometers per hour.

The weather disturbance’s trough will bring cloudy skies added with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the following areas:

  • Regions
    • Eastern Visayas
    • Bicol Region
  • Provinces
    • Quezon
    • Aurora

As per the report, the following areas will face cloudy skies with scattered rains brought by the southwest monsoon or habagat, which continues to prevail over Luzon:

  • Zambales
  • Bataan

As for the capital and the rest of the Philippines, they will face partly cloudy to cloudy skies with remote rains due to localized thunderstorms.
