PAGASA: Liwayway Further Intensified Into Severe Tropical Storm

PAGASA – The weather bureau PAGASA recently updated on Tuesday that Liwayway further intensified into a sevee tropical storm.

The now severe tropical storm, previously seen 225 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan, was currently seen 250 kilometers east northeast of that municipality as of 10 AM in the morning.

A report from ABS-CBN said that it is now packed with maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour and gusts up to 115 kilometers per hour. The weather disturbance is reportedly slowing down as it moves north northwest at 10 kilometers per hour.

Until now, Batanes, Apayao, Cagayan, and the Babuyan Group of Islands will face light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains.

As per Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, the provinces of Mindoro, Calamian Islands and the northern part of Palawan; and the Cordillera Administrative Group will face light to moderate rains with instances of heavy rains due to the habagat or southwest monsoon.

As per the report, it is expected for severe tropical storm Liwayway to not make landfall and leave the nation’s Area of Responsibility on Wednesday evening or Thursday early morning.
