2 Filipinas Earn $15/Hour To Wait In Line For Jollibee Customers
JOLLIBEE – 2 Pinay teenagers named Ivana Recinos and Maryelle Ganaearns $15 per hour to wait in line for Jollibee customers.
The Filipino fast-food chain Jollibee is considered one of the best restaurants in the Philippines. Lots of people including the foreigners crave for their Jolly spaghetti and Chicken Joy.
In a previous article, a Canadian man went viral as he camped outside the newest Jollibee store in Edmonton in Alberta, Canada. He wanted to be the first customer and win the promos.
Based on a report from CBC News, two Filipina offers services to Jollibee customers. They just have to pay $15 or P700 to the Pinay to wait in line. The fast-food chain has a very long queue since it’s just their first month.
Ivana Recinos and Maryelle Gana, both 19, said they are raising money for their vacation in Calgary. They would wait in line for them just to earn enough money for their trip.
According to the report, Maryelle Gana said their service at the fast-food restaurant originally started as a joke. “I was like … what if we advertised that we’ll stand in line for people for Jollibee. Then I thought about it and this sounds like a pretty decent idea,” she said.
Ivana Recinos said they receive orders from people who live in Redwater or Calgary, a town that is 60km away from Edmonton. “This is like their little taste of home and … I guess they still want it but they don’t want to wait in line for hours, so we’re just doing that for them,” she said.
