DepEd To Hire 10,000 Teachers & 5,000 Personnel Next Year

The Department of Education (DepEd) announced that they will recruit over 10,000 school teachers and 5,000 non-teaching personnel next year.

The Education Department would hire additional teachers to enhance the teacher-to-student ratio and also to improve the learning process in school. DepEd allocates a budget of more than P500 billion for the year 2020. The move also aims to reduce the workload of the school personnel nationwide.

Education Secretary Leonor Briones said that the department has a budget of P1.27 billion to hire 10,000 educators that would be assign to manage school classrooms. While, P1.28 billion is also allocated for hiring 5,000 new non-teaching positions.

The additional educators would foster a more conducive learning environment in public school students. The non-teaching personnel will be assigned to different field offices and schools throughout the country.

More than being part of our 10-point agenda, we want to stay true to our word that the department is relentless in finding ways to enhance personnel welfare, while at the same time improving the delivery of quality education,” Briones said.

The DepEd Computerization Program (DCP) also aims to provide modern technologies to all public students to improve the learning process.
