One of the most common digestive issues is bloating and it is always a struggle trying to fit into your jeans when you have this. It gives us a lot of discomfort because it gives the abdomen the feeling of being tight and full making the belly appear larger.

  • Do not overeat and try to be mindful of what you are eating such as chewing well and eating in slow and relaxed manners.
  • Avoid swallowing gas, thus, avoid chewing gum due to sugar alcohols in gum which can cause bloating and chewing can possibly make you swallow air leading to bloating and gas pain.
  • Probiotics are good bacteria that live in the intestines regulating the colon bacteria that produce gas and cause bloating. Good gut health means good digestion. Probiotic rich foods are Sauerkraut, Kimchi, yogurt, and among others.
  • Avoid foods that can cause bloating and some of these foods according to Healthline are: Beans, Lentils, Carbonated drinks, Wheat, Onions, Barley, Dairy products, Apple, Garlic, Beer, and among others.
  • Manage stress. If you are stressed, it causes poor digestion and one way you can manage it is through meditation.
